Many people with reduced renal function have a kidney disease that will get worse. You will have serious health problems if you have less than 25 percent of your renal function. If your renal function drops below 10 to 15 percent, you cannot live long without some form of renal replacement therapy—either dialysis or transplantation. Malfunction of the kidney causes renal failure.

The main cause of renal failure is the failure of the kidney to perform well.  If the kidney does not function well then the urine gets into the blood and the blood gets contaminated with toxins leading to renal failure. Depending upon the seriousness of the toxins it may affect the working of the other organs, also lead to acid being formed in the blood, high level of potassium in the blood, failure of other organs etc.  It is a very critical condition.
