One of the best things to do for Herpes Simplex I sores is to take L-Lysine, which is available in almost all grocery and health food stores. When a sore is imminent, begin taking the Lysine tablets, about 3 doses at once. This is perfectly safe. Take this dose 3 times per day for three days. This should ward off, or at least dramatically shorten the outbreak.
For sores that are already present, dilute 2 drops of lavender oil and 1 drop of lemon balm oil in 1 tablespoon of jojoba oil. Or, mix 2 drops of myrrh oil and 2 drops thyme oil in 1/4 cup of jojoba oil. Adding 2 drops of Tea Tree oil to either of the above recipes is good. Apply to sores with a cotton swab.
