Draw all the time. Draw anyone or any subject that is at hand. Life drawing is essential for every artist. If you don't have nobody near, draw from magazines or pictures. Sit down in a cafe or in the park and draw people. It's also good to do fast drawings while you are watching TV.
Don't give up if at the beginning your drawings don't look good, it's your style and how you see what matters, and with daily practice in in a short time you will be surprise of you improvement.
    Good luck!

Get some good books on drawing-"How to draw realistic faces"-by Carrie Stuart- Parks is what got me a real good start. It's all in the tones And shading... my drawings now look like pictures in black and white cause I draw in graphite (pencil) and tend not to use color. But PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!!!Also go to wetcanvas.com or drawpapa.com, and above all have fun!! Good Luck!

Life drawing is great but working from photos gives you the time and opportunity to really study your subject and get a tremendous amount of detail. Practice, practice, practice and look for some good books or DVDs to learn the techniques that other artists use. Find the style you like and keep practicing.
