How Goth Originated?

Gothic culture originated in the United Kingdom during the late 1970s and the beginning of 1980s. Goth is a genre in music which placed its roots after the Punk scene in the United Kingdom. Goth is mainly associated with a dark output of the music. They are mainly influenced by and revolve around 'Death'. People deeply influenced by Goth paint their nails black and are completely dressed in Black attire.

After the post Punk era, many bands started writing Gothic music. One of the famous bands of that era was "The Naked and The Dead". They were a gothic band from New York City.

The first Goth band to start of were Bauhaus, they were a very famous act in Goth music.
Other famous bands of the gothic period were Southern Death, The Cure and the Siouxsie & the Banshees.
