    Is Different Ugly? (Heterochromia)

I have a rare gene mutation that lead me to be born with two different eye colors. It is called heterochromia iridum. It means that one of my eyes are hazel-brown while the other is blue kind of like what you see in some huskies. I've been wearing tinted contacts for a couple of years now and my boyfriend is trying to get me to stop wearing them. So my question is a matter of opinion. Is Heterochromia ugly?

I have alternate coloured eyes, I was also born with it, i've never really thought about hiding the fact they still work better then some other peoples. My right is fully Blue my left is approx 1/3rd Blue and 2/3rds Brown. If the above pic is of your eyes then they are sweet, you have no need to hide it, they are much better looking than mine. Just be prepared for people to ask you questions, and for the odd one not to believe they are real.

It sounds a bit soft but be proud to be you.

It's not ugly it's wild. You might get some questions (like how many people on the planet have this mutation)or looks but so what. It might actually help other kids that have the same mutation learn that it does not matter. I know your probably going to shoot this down, but maybe you could get on oprah and let people know about this gene mutation . I think it is wild that you have been uniquely made with two different eye colors. I just learned last week from researching a answer for another question on blurt it that babies eyes change colors as they get older. But it is your choice . Hope this helped.

No, I think its beautiful. Its also very unique. I would love to have two different colored eyes. You should be proud that you are different, but don't fret, either. There are plenty of other people in the world with heterochromia aswell. Think of it as a special touch from god. :]

Actress Jane Seymore has two different colored eyes, and I think it makes her beautiful, because it is somewhat unique. Being different is what makes you stand out. The way you feel about yourself is what people will see, so if you think your eyes are beautiful, so will others. If you look at anyone famous, they didn't make it by looking like everyone else. They made it because they had something special, something different than everyone else that made them stand out. Love yourself, and so will everyone else. God bless you.
