I would not meddle with history even if i could. The said action is likely to trigger a chain reaction that may have unprecedented consequences.

I certainly would.  Think of the 6 million innocent lives that would be saved not to mention the lives of all the military men and women that were lost.  How about preventing the Great Depression?  Maybe the atomic bomb wouldn't have been developed.  At least it wouldn't have been used.  I don't know if you are driving at something else, but I don'y think this requires a lot of hard thought.

Arguably WW2 didn't actually begin with Germany invading Poland but with Japan invading China, apparently on July 31 1937 a Japanese soldier stopped for a toilet break and got separated from his unit. It was presumed that the Chinese had kidnapped him and although he turned safe and well a short time later the Japanese had already ordered the attack.

So if theoretically you could go back rushing him back to his unit might work but in all reality such was the worldwide hunger for power/resources at the time its doubtful anything would have stopped the war.

Killing Hitler after WW1 and stopping his rise to power could have set Germany on a very different path but that is no guarantee of peace with a hungry Russian bear also becoming more technically advanced and looking to expand its borders. You shoot 1 tyrant and inevitably another will take his place.

Unfortunately until mankind develops some good sense and stops fighting each other wars will be inevitable.  Although WW2 could be considered by some as our darkest hour with the holocaust and all those killed it was also our finest hour, a time of heroes and brave men willing to stand up for what was right.

as Einstein said "I know not what weapons WW3 will be fought with but WW4 will be fought with sticks and stones"
