If there is non-payment of Rent for a particular time and the landlord wants you to leave, he has to give you a notice for eviction in which he has to mention why he wants you to evict and the notice should give you 3 or more days before eviction as a rule. Otherwise the exact number of days that you're going to get depends on the landlord.

Our landlord gave us a 72 hr notice of eviction.....we left the premises and she is now with holding our property in her complex. Is this against the law...can we pick up our things? And is it necessary that we need a police officer or lawyer present to retrieve or belongings?

Is there anything in Texas State Law for an eviction citation that DOES NOT allow the tenant to ask for a cash judgement. Or is it completely at the judges discretion?
