Brazil is one of the most popular tourist destinations, attracting tourists with different interests, with something to offer for everyone. Depending on the area of interests and purpose, the ideal time to visit Brazil could vary.
Tourists interested in the Carnival would do best to visit in February, which is during their summer. There are multitudes of tourists and youngsters at this time. Tourists who would prefer to avoid the hordes of toursits and holidayers would do well to visit any time between March to April. This is also the best time of the year if you have budget restrictions, becasue airline tickets are much lower at this time of the year, and the beaches are as beautiful and as much fun as at any other time of the year. For tourists with a fascination for history the best time to visit would be june – august, during their winter to avoid the scorching heat.

Best time I found after six visits depends on where you are going and what type weather you enjoy.
In the north, the area nearest to the equator, best time to visit is June, July, or August; for it is the coolest time of year and the least amount of tourist: Brasilian or others. Also you will find excellent beaches there. Stay away from Rio and all of its crime, the north is where the locals go.
Brasil has opposite seasons of America so when it is summer here it is winter there and the same with spring and fall. Brasilian typically go on vacation during the last 2 weeks of December to first two weeks of February, so this is high season for them, and the most expensive time to purchase a flight from US to Brasil.
In the south, avoid our summer months because beginning in June days and nights become quite cool. Spring is the best time to visit anywhere in Brasil but especially the south. Nice weather but not too hot or muggy like the more northern or central parts.
East, well I like to visit Sao Paulo and surrounding cities anytime of the year. Weather not much of a factor to keep you away from the industrial heart of Brasil.
West, what small amount there, is is still mostly undeveloped to the point of the other parts of the country; yet the weather matches the east and central part. Rough country similar to the old west of America and far removed from typical Brasilian life of the other sprawling urban areas. Search for the Pantanal and you will see what I mean.
Central weather is moderate to muggy in summer and fall: December to May, winter is cool June to early September, spring is nice from October to mid December. In mid October all flowers and plant life are in full bloom and there are spring showers too. Beautiful time to be in the country.
Actually in my six trips I did not ever find the weather unbearable or extreme as we sometimes experience here in America. I lived in central part of Brasil in summer and spring of 2000 and it was easy to acclimatize to the temperatures.
If you plan to go to the Amazon Rain Forest I would suggest intense weather searches via Internet as it is most unpredictable from year to year. Be sure you like rain and bugs if you go, though; you will see plenty of both.
Regardless of the weather if you have opportunity to visit Brasil go do it. You will love it, be sure and have some guarana soda and pass on drinking coke; go native.
