Current UEFA president Micheal Platini played seventy two times for his national side, France in an international career that spanned eleven years from nineteen seventy six, until nineteen eighty seven.

To add to the Frenchmen's tally came an impressive goal return from his position of midfield of forty one goals, giving him a goal scoring ratio of well over one every other game.

Platini's finest moment for the French team came in the European championships of nineteen eighty four, a tournament France not only  won but Platini finished the championships as overall top goal scorer, as well as being crowned over all best player.

Platini also participated in three world cups, the first in seventy eight, then again in eighty two and finally in Mexico in eighty six, where the French team were widely tipped to win the tournament.

Currently Micheal Platini is the current UEFA president having taken over from Lennart Johnansson.
