Where Did Jimmy Carter Study?

    Jimmy Carter first studied at the Plains High School in Plains and near the town of Americus in southwest Georgia as a child. He later studied at the Georgia Southwest College and also the Georgia Institute of Technology. He studied and received a degree in the Bachelor of Science in 1946 from the United States Naval Academy. He was a very good student and ranked 59th out of a class of 820 students.

    Jimmy Carter was selected by Admiral Rickover who was then a Captain for the nuclear submarine program of the US Navy. Once Carter started in this program he studied for nuclear physics and the related reactor technology. This was part of his post graduate program. He was attending Union College when this happened and he decided to quit when news of his fathers death was made known.
