Roughly How Long Would It Take To Learn To Code C++?

Answer Question

I think you are looking at a decent month of continued usage and playing around. The thing with programming languages is really the principles and not the language.

When you have the principles about what options and methodology that are available, most modern languages present these one way or another. Its just the syntax that changes.

There are some pretty hot debates about which languages are best but c++ is a solid object orientated language more suited to standalone applications as opposed to web based programming / scripting.

You can start coding from the first day you start. There is no end to the learning. A programming language has to be learnt from practise. You have to write programms to improve your skills. It depends on the program you are going to make and your skill level.

If you know "C" and are familiar with OOP then you could get going pretty quickly.  The syntax of C++ isn't really that much worse than that of "C".

If you lack either "C" or OOP, it will probably take months before you could become productive with C++.
