Broadmarsh Centre lies to the south of Nottingham City. It is located near the Nottingham Train station. Though smaller than its rival, the Victoria Centre, plans are being made to renovate it. The idea is to make it into one of the UK's largest spread over an area of 1.25 million square feet filled with shops. Lister Gate, Middle Pavement, Collin Street, and a foot tunnel to the Broadmarsh Bus Station, as well as bridges to the Broadmarsh Car Park all have entrances leading to Broadmarsh centre. TK Maxx Centre, KRCS Apple Centre, BHS, Argos etc are some of the tenants at Broadmarsh centre. It was designed in 1970 and is considered as a blunder by many. It is supposed to have damaged the townscape around it. The old street pattern and topography was spoilt by its monolithic architecture. It is going to be demolished and substituted by new connected buildings and surrounding streets. It would have a shopping floorspace of 110,000sq.m.
