What Is CNC Machines And What Are They Used For?

C.N.C stands for Computer Numerical Control.  It is a computer language of which there are a number of variant languages.  The main programming language is FANUC.  Using G, M, and X and Y coordinates, that can maneuver various tools (turning tool, parting off tool, drill, power tooling) around a work piece (this is a lump of metal - a blank or solid bar), in order to produce a component, the type of which is dependent on what's require (and therefore infinite in scope).  

There are various types of C.N.C machine, C.N.C Lathes , Milling Machines, Drilling Machines and C.N.C Machining Centres. (a more complex lathe).  These are produced by various manufacturers, some of which include Hardinge, Mori Seiki and Cincinatti.

C.N.C machines are used for the all types of industries, from aerospace to Formula one and the less intriguing washers and bolts that we all need!
