    One of the most obvious manners is in determining how long the person has been dead. It is referred to as a decay problem since the body temperature of a person is known, 98.5 the temperature when the body is found and it's environment gives input for the calculation from the last time it was producing it's own heat from life.

      Math can also be used in forensic entomology at an outdoor crime scene, to determine the life cycle of insects that appear at the area of the body.
