Why Are Mont Blanc Pens So Sought After?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Because Mont Blanc are at the peak of pen making. Their products are not so much pens as finely engineered, high quality writing instruments. If Mont Blanc pens were cars, they would be Ferraris or Porsches, such is the company's eye for expert design, precision engineering and strict quality control.

Throughout their history, Mont Blanc pens have been produced with incredible attention to detail and the most painstaking of efforts to reach the ultimate of writing perfection. They have been designer pens since the company was first set up in 1906.

Going hand in hand with this ethos of luxury and aspiration has been Mont Blanc's equal emphasis on customer service and after sales care.

But the esteem with which the brand is held today was hard won. The company was formed in Hamburg, Germany in 1906 and produced simple 'eye dropper' pens with slip-on caps and gold nibs imported from the USA. Within two years the company hit financial trouble but was saved from the brink by the intervention of new backers.

By the 1950s, Mont Blanc was synonymous with producing luxury pens featuring 14 carat gold and solid silver caps and barrels.
