    I Live In Northern Wisconsin And My Son Caught A Red "Fire" Bellied Snake (Not Sure If That Is The Official Name). This Snake Had 4 Babies In The Tank, What Do They Eat?

    I live in Northern Wisconsin and my son caught a Red "Fire" Bellied snake (Not sure if that is the official name) The snake is in our Lizard enclosure (a 75 Gallon tank) and the snake had 4 babies this morning in the tank and I have know idea what they eat, or if it is safe for them to be in there. Thanks for any help!

    It's called a Northern Redbelly Snake. They eat mainly slugs, earthworms and other invertebrates. Go here for more information on them: dnr.wi.gov Good luck to the little snakes! I just saw one of those yesterday also. I'm kinda close to Wisconsin, Eastern Iowa.
