How Can I Make A Pom Pom?

Most children see pom-poms in schools, especially during sporting events. It is easy to make pom-poms at home. All you need is a cardboard or felt, a compass, wool or cotton, needle and thread and colored tassels.

Trace out two concentric circles on the cardboard. There should be a difference of 0.5 of an inch between the radiuses of the two circles. Now cut along the circumference of both the circles. You will get a cardboard shaped donut. The wool or cotton has to be wound around the rings. Keep on winding the wool using an 'inside out' motion to cover the entire cardboard. Do this multiple times till you cannot see the hole of the donut. Now you can decorate the front of the ring with colored tassels.

Stitch 'grips' to the back of the rings so that the child can hold on to the pom-poms. Dark blues, greens and reds are the most popular colors for pom-poms.
