How Long Does A Yellow Necked Mouse Live For?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The life span of the yellow neck mouse does not exceed one year. Not many live more than one year with most having a life expectancy of 3-4 months when juvenile. After birth their eyes open only after 13-16 days. There is a difference in growth patterns between those pups born in spring and those born later in the year. Spring arrivals grow quicker and are sexually mature by 2-3 months of age. Others take a bit longer to grow.

The mouse is in danger of extinction everywhere. In Britain their status remains unclear. In England they are prevalent in the Southern and Western Counties. They are very good at climbing and are nocturnal. They develop extensive tunnels in which to store their food. They usually build nests of leaves which form their homes either in trees, homes or within their tunnel network.
