The earliest and most reliable way to diagnose pregnancy in dogs is via ultrasound. Ultrasound can be done as early as day 20-22 but more reliably at day 26 or later. Uterine enlargement or fetuses can be palpated at varying stages during pregnancy--this depends upon skill of the palpator, body condition of the dog, and number of puppies. Fetal skeletons calcify at day 45 and can be seen on x-rays. This is the best way to estimate the number of puppies. Gestation in dogs lasts 63-66 days.

Well first take your dog to a vet second ask if the vet can do an ultrasound if the ultrasound shows something moving your dog is pregnant
