How Do I Alter The Volume On My Laptop?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

To alter the volume on your laptop, go to the speaker icon on your taskbar (if you can't see the speaker because you have too many icons on the taskbar then use the arrow to see all icons).

If you wish to simply alter the volume on your laptop, click the speaker icon once. A small pop-up will appear with a bar that you can move to adjust the sound and there is also a mute button, which you can click if you wish to turn all sound off.

To access more options for the volume on your laptop, click the speaker icon twice. This will bring up a different op-up to the first one, with more adjustments available. You can alter the sound, CD audio, wave etc, which may be useful if you are using your laptop to play music.

If you have the sound turned on and you are playing a clip in Windows Media Player and the sound still doesn't work, then make sure you have adjusted the speaker in the Windows Media Player window.
