The continued adventures of the famous Aladdin was written by South African, Noel Langley, who was born on Christmas day, 1911. The title of the book was The Land of Green Ginger and like the original story of Aladdin, as told in The Arabian Nights Entertainment, it tells of the adventures of a little boy surrounded by wizardry and magicians.
Noel Langley was a man of many talents. Not only did he write books for adults, including the highly successful, Cage me a Peacock, Noel also wrote many novels for children. Langley also wrote film scripts for Hollywood studios. He was one of the three writers who wrote the screen-play for The Wizard of Oz – a story about Dorothy, a young girl who sets out with some interesting characters on the Yellow Brick road, in the Land of Oz, in search of a personal quest. Noel Langley died on November 4th, 1980.
