Why Doesn't My Cat Purr?

Pretty simply actually. Cats show happiness thru purr'n. When they are purr'n though...that doesn't mean they aren't happy...that just means they are content w/ they're surroundings. It although is easy to make a cat purr. Scratch his/her back is the #1 way. Scratch his/her neck top/bottom. Cats also sleep alot...up to 22 hrs a day & cant cant purr while sleeping. When a cat is in deep sleep...theres no purr'n cause just like humans...when we sleep...your subconscience meaning u are alive & breathing but cant control what u do in your sleep. Some people snore. Some people sleep walk. Some people talk in they're sleep (yours truely) ut subconscientiously you know you do these things if you do it long enough. For humans to go into a deep sleep stage it takes 52 minutes...w/ cats its alot shorter period of time. Ex: Purr'n while sleeping is like a human eating while sleeping. No1 can sleep while they eat unless they are sleep walking. Everything that is subconscience takes over when you sleep. Like right now...my cats are laying next to me on the bed. They aren't purr'n but I know they are comfy & content & relaxed w/ they're environment. Depending on if the cat is female or male. Males are more aggressive so if they aren't happy...they make bite u & may draw blood or claw you like crazy & draw blood. They may also swat or attack your leg or try & bite your face. Females typically will run off because just like human females...they don't like negative confrontation. In short...if they aren't purr'n doesn't mean they aren't happy. They feel safe around u & comfy w/ they're environment & content w/ the surroundings.
