What Is The Net Ionic Equation For Zinc And Nitric Acid?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

    The balanced chemical equation is:
    2 Zn + 2 HNO3 ---> 2 ZnNO3 (s)  + H2 (g)
    As ions, this is:
    2 Zn2+ + 2 H1+ + 2 (NO3)1- ---> 2 ZnNO3 (solid)  + H2 (gas)
    There are no spectator ions, so the equation as written stands as the net ionic equation.
