If you want to get rid of the mouldings on your wall then the first thing you will need is having plenty of patience and using all the skill you can possibly muster up. If the mouldings that you're thinking of tackling is already been painted upon then you must first carefully cut along the edge of the mouldings to break the paint seal.
Now pay careful attention and do exactly this. Insert a large broad bladed knife behind the moulding. Now while holding the broad knife in position with one hand insert a putty knife in between the moulding and the broad knife. Now with the utmost care drive a pry bar in between the two blades and very gently remove the moulding. Now you must put a wedge in behind the moulding you want to remove and then remove the pry bar and the knives.
The whole purpose behind all of this is simply to take out the wedges and then pull out all the nails.
