Farmers hate rabbits as their nibbling destroys the entire crop. This leads to extensive damage for farmers. In order to keep the rabbits away, farmers have tried various methods from building an electric fence to gassing and shooting and even catching them with the help of butterfly nets. Nevertheless, all these methods failed to keep the rabbits away from the fields.

The damage caused by these wild rabbits is irretrievable. The loss caused by these rabbits affects the survival of other insects and birds that survive on vegetation. They continuously nib on vegetation, due to which young plants and shrubs are affected. This also leads to soil erosion. Australia and New Zealand faces great problems due to rabbits.
