While it is extremely tempting to try on the dress before the big day (and a necessity sometimes), it is highly advisable that you do not take it out of its protective cover unless you absolutely need to. This is because, more often than not, accidents can and do happen. If you cannot guarantee that you will not spill something down your dress or get any type of stain on it whatsoever, you should not try it on.

However, if you have already stained the dress you should take it to a specialist immediately. They will know what to do and they will have dealt with the same thing quite a few times previously. There is something called 'Dryel' which is a stain remover which you can carry around with you. This works on a lot of stains and depending on how fast you treat the affected area, it could remove the stain completely. This is handy to carry around with you on your actual wedding day too!
