As the invitations will be supplied for multiple guests it is advisable to order a little more than you need. Printers tend to charge less for the more prints you order, although don't attempt to over compensate if you really won't need 1000 printed exactly for your party.

Some companies will offer budget invitations that are templated and produced in bulk (and are therefore cheap to produce and buy). Other companies will specialise in careful handcrafted designs which may involve more intricate craftsmenship - and subsequently will end up being expensive.

If you want to impress your guests you could go for handmade paper with calligraphy, layered invitations with inserts finished with raffia, or high quality paper with a nice photograph centrepiece.
