The gall bladder is an very important part of our GI tract. It stores bile produced by liver. The pain in gall bladder can be felt on the right upper abdomen as you are feeling. Cholecystograpghy or CT of upper abdomen can differential the pain in gall bladder and other GI tract pain. If the gall bladder is swollen or blocked by stones or filled by slough, causes pain.

I had my gallbladder removed in 1996. Your symptoms sound very familiar. The doctor actually thought that I was having a heart attack, due to my symptoms.

I went through something very similar years back. Doctors kept saying it wasn't my gallbladder so I suffered with flare ups of abdominal pain and sometimes nausea. Finally a different GI doctor decided my gallbladder needed to be removed and since, I haven't had any similar pain at all.

When I first saw the doctors they said my gall bladder didn't have stones just what they called sludge. It never changed. When the last doctor decided to remove it, my gallbladder still had no stones just sludge.

Believe me, regardless if there are stones or not, it helped me tremendously. Good luck to you.

I too am going thru the same exact symptoms and i agree with the others. Before now i too was unsure what was causing my symptoms but after reading their comments i feel more certain that it's our gallbladder. And until now was afraid to have it taken out but guess what, i will asap. Good luck. Have you recently within the last 2 years had surgery? It's been said that after surgery the gallbladder tends to malfunction. Hmm?
