What Causes Short Term Memory Loss?

    Short term memory loss or amnesia is a condition when a person is incapable of remembering past experiences. Memory loss or amnesia is caused due to several reasons. A chronic medical or psychological condition can cause a temporary or permanent memory loss. Diseases like Cerebrovascular, Malnutrition, Neurpsyphilis, Thyroid etc. Seizure disorder or Epilepsy can also cause memory loss. Trauma or head trauma can cause a person to get amnesia. Or reasons include a stroke, medications, depression, and drug or alcohol abuse. It depend on the cause of temporary memory loss, whether it will set in immediately or gradually. When suffering from amnesia, a person may forget recent events only or events from the distant past or even both.
