What Is The History Of Digital Technology?

The history of digital technology commenced with the invention of personal computers in the late 20th century. The word Digit is derived from the latin word digitus which means finger. It is used for discrete counting. Data storage, data transfer, input and display are a method of using discrete numbers or symbols like letters or icons. The history of digital technology started with display of numbers by which the data could be stored. It is used in counting, in computers and is widely used in relation to electronic goods.

The Braille system was the first six bit code rendered as dot designs which helped in character encoding. One of the oldest examples of digital signal is smoke signal.
International maritime signal flags represents letter of the alphabets in the form of signals where the hidden message can be seen from a ship .

Lastly it has been proved in the current age that digital revolution brought about a great impact in today's world.
