Where Is The Capital Baton Rouge?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Baton Rouge basically is the capital of the State of Louisiana. According to the census conducted in the year 2000 the total population of this region was estimated at 227,818.

Baton Rouge is traditionally the second biggest city in Louisiana after New Orleans but the effects of Hurricane Katrina have at least for the time being reduced the total population of New Orleans such that Baton Rouge is at the moment bigger than New Orleans. The census report of the year 2000 also stated that the total area of this region was said to be 204.8 square kilometres, out of which 199.0 square kilometres is land and 5.7 square kilometres is water.
