I would have to say one. Because, you get addicted and then eventually die.

There is no way to answer that question accurately.  Each individual person would be different.  Some of it depends on if you inhale each time you take a puff or if you hold the smoke in your lungs and then blow it out quickly or if you hold it for some time.  Some of the difference is based on your overall health and you age.  So there is no way to tell if you will die in a year from now due to smoking or if it will be in 25 years from now.  What I can tell you is that death caused by smoking is not a good way to die.  Some people die from cancer of the lungs and it is a nasty,  painful way to go.  Some smokers develop a disease that causes them to basically smother to death...hard way to go because that can be a several year long process.  It begins with a cough and then the cough gets harder and deeper and more frequent.  Finally they must resort to oxygen all the time.  And so it goes, until death mercifully takes the smoker away.  As our guest has said, the first one is the road to all the others.  And, if you think, " I will smoke for just awhile and then quit", my dear, think again.  You can say it and mean it now but doing it later may well be a different matter.  Better not to begin in the first place!!!

Good for you Juicy2love! Being a X-smoker myself, I know how extremely difficult it is to quit. I stopped a 2-3 pack a day habit in 1995 and it was years before I stopped dreaming about smoking. I dreamed I chased a man down the street asking for a cigarette. That was a reoccurring dream for a long, long time. Just goes to show how hard it is to quit. May we both live long and well!!
