Who Was The Fourth President Of The United States?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Not only was James Madison the fourth president of the United States but was also given the honor of being the 'father of the constitution'.  Because the framing of the United States Constitution was done behind closed doors and in secrecy, there was no public news about what exactly was happening behind the doors.

The insight, which was finally gained by the general public was through the journal of James Madison, which contained all the essential happenings that took place during the meeting and that played an important role in the structuring of the constitution.  For the constitution to become the Law of the Land, there was a need of ratification from nine of the thirteen states that were part of the United States.  To convince the states to ratify the constitution, James Madison along with John Jay and Alexander Hamilton, mutually wrote the Federalist Papers, which were later structured into a book that became one of the most important books on government.
