As an account receivable specialist (that's what i reckon by A/R specialist) you will be expected to manage account receivables, deposits and manage collections. Occasionally you might be expected to handle phone calls as well. They said they will train you so you need not to worry yourself sick over that.

Always write notes, comments regarding what was said in your conversations so you can look back on an account should you need to research. Don't be one of those people who never put notes down because you'll look like the fool when the customer tells you he meant he'd be putting the check in the mail next Friday not this Friday. Arm yourself so you can be a responsible a/r person. Documentation is everything and it can be used in court when you have to litigate.
