The main drawbacks of COBOL were as follows.
It required a long coding for simple programs.Then after typing the program had to be translated.This was a lengthy process and a lot of time was consuming also.These were the major drawbacks of this language .As it was designed as a business language so it become difficult to use this language in business transactions where time was considered as precious.
