A) Initial stage of colon cancer: Initial stage colon cancer is that at it site of origin. I.e. At innermost layer of colon.
B) Stage 1 colon cancer (Duke's A): In this stage, cancer has spread from the innermost layer of the colon into the middle layers of the colon.
C) Stage 2 colon cancer (Duke's B): When cancer moves beyond the middle layers of the colon.
D) Stage 3 colon cancer (Duke's C):If colon cancer is found in at least three lymph nodes
E) Stage 4 colon cancer (Duke's D):cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes and other parts of the body. Common destinations include the liver and the lungs.
