My mom carried my oldest sister a month to long because the doctor insisted that she wasn't that far along. Well my mom knew when she conceived because her husband was home for a few weeks and then was back on the military base... The doc refused to induce my mom's labor and my sister was born dry... So yes you can carry a baby longer than you are supposed to and in most cases you know more about what day you conceived than they do....

No a women can not and should not go pass 42 weeks complications can happen, baby may be to large for a vaginal delivery, baby may pass the first bowl, oxygen, food to the baby may not be delivered 100% it is a risk no doctor will allow...
