Who Invented The Ball Point Pen?

The ball point pen was invented in the year 1938, by the Hungarian-born journalist László Bíró. In British English it is known as biro. As a journalist, he reached a point of frustration when he had to keep filling the ink into the fountain pen. And the nib of the fountain pen would also tear off the pages. However, the plus point that he found in the fountain pen was the ink. This ink would not blot on the paper. So, along with his brother George who was a chemist, he fitted the pen with a tiny ball bearing. As the pen moved across the paper, this ink from the catridge would roll down the ball, leaving it onto the paper.

Today it is considered as a modern writing instrument. It is completely affordable and maintenance free. It has replaced the fountain pen to a great extent.
