You might want to consider the 1999 Chrysler Neon. I used to drive this car and quite liked it, even though some people have a darker view of the Neon. The vehicle is certainly economical and is reasonable attractive, even if it is not especially sporty. In 2000, the Neon looked much better than other cars in the same class, such as the Ford Escort. You should be able to purchase a 1999/2000 Neon for between $3,000 to $5,000.
