By virtue of the lack of specificity of the Guest's question I am not certain the Guest is asking how to convert to metric units from some other system of measurement or within the metric system.
If the Guest is asking how to convert between scales within the metric ystem as for example 2.54_cm=25.4_mm then it is a simle matter of using multiples of 10. If the Guest is asking about how to convert between different systems of measurement you must have a conversion factor as for example to convert between inches and centimeter's you must have the conversion factor 1_in=2.54_cm and to convert between systems of measurements you must have the appropriate conversion factor.
