Brazilian food is a combination of three main civilizations: Amazonian Indian, Portuguese and African.

The most used items in Brazilian food are beans, rice, coconut milk, palm oil, chicken, beef, sausages, seafood, bacalao, farofa, pasta, cheese and tomatoes. Mostly they eat empanadinhas (made of meat or cheese), vatapa (ingredients include: Chicken and coconut milk), churrasco (it is a beef barbecue), moqueca (seafood) and feijoada (black beans and sausages).

Preferred desserts are rice pudding also known as arroz-doce and pudim de caramel (it is a kind of caramel flan).
