Well as per the world calendar, nothing significant happened on April 18th in 1875. I guess you are mistyped 1875 instead of 1775. 18th April 1775 is a legendary day in American history. This was the day when the British troops fired the Lexington army and killed 8 soldiers. There are a lot of myths and misconceptions regarding this legend. There is a book by David Fischer called the "Paul Rivere's ride". This is a real story told about Paul Rivere, Samuel Prescott and William Dawes, rode to Boston to warn the arrests and the shooting at the Lexington army.
