What Wine Should You Drink With Game?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

If you want your dinner party to be proper and correct and you are serving game such as pheasant, then you should serve a robust red wine such as Barbarossa. There are many, many wines throughout the world and most grapes grow well in particular regions, whilst other can grow wherever there is a small amount of soil and water.
The types of grape used in wine making determines the type of wine that is going to be produced. A wine such as Barbarossa is a red wine made from grapes grown in Italy, France and the Balkan regions and I am told it is one of those wines that taste better with age.
The Barbera wine is from a grape grown in the Piedmont region and most of northern Italy. It is believe to have been imported into the USA in the later 19th century and usually produces an intense red wine with a deep colour and a high acidy taste. This is one of those wines that are used for 'jug' wines.
Not all wines are produced by grape. My own father was a great one for sending me out to pick elderberries, dandelions and even stinging nettles ~ yes, ouch indeed! All this vegetation fermented for years in his workroom until he was satisfied that a good wine had been produced.
