Petts Wood is located in the London Borough of Bromley. It is situated somewhere between Bickley and Orpington. The name comes from 'the wood of the Pett family' and was first used in the year 1577. The Pett family was actually ship builders. Another important person associated with this place is a Daylight Savings Time campaigner by the name of William Willett. There is a sundial as well as an Inn in his name. This place is rather small yet has another pub, a shopping centre as well as a railway station to itself.
There is also a park called the Jubilee Country Park where one can find many a rare species of animals. It is believed that the developer Basil Scruby is responsible for the development of most of the Wood.
