    Buzz Aldrin was an American Astronaut and pilot who was the second man to walk on the moon. He was born on January 20, 1930 in Montclair, New Jersey.

    On July 20, 1969, he followed Neal Armstrong when Apollo 11 landed on the moon.

    He graduated from West Point and had a very successful career in flight. He flew fighter jets in the Korean War, and he also earned a Doctorate degree in astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

    Since his retirement from NASA, Aldrin has been an unabashed booster for space exploration. He founded Starcraft Boosters, a private rocket design firm. His autobiography, Return to Earth was published in 1973. He also enjoys writing science fiction stories about outer space. He wrote the sci-fi novels Encounter With Tiber (1996) and The Return (2000). He always had a very vivid imagination in regards to outer space.

    He is best known for his moon walk with Neil Armstrong.

      Buzz Aldrin was  a member of the crew of Apollo 11,  he was the Lunar Module pilot  and was the second person to set foot on the surface of the Moon, on July 20, 1969.
