    The source from which the surname Jenner is derived is not clearly known, although his name became very popular due to one famous bearer, Edward Jenner.

    Edward Jenner was born on the 17th of May in the year 1749 and passed away at the age of seventy-four on the 26th of January, 1823. He practised in English counties as a doctor and a physician. He is today known all over the world for his studies and discovery of the small pox vaccine.

    He did hi training under the mentorship of Dr Ludlow for a period of eight years since the tender young age of thirteen. He was a founding member of a medical society which met regularly to discuss papers and medical topics.
