What Was The Rendlesham Forest Incident?

The Rendlesham Forest Incident was a series of UFO sightings at two American military bases in the UK. The alleged UFO activity occurred around Christmas time in the year 1980. Similar things happened for a few nights in succession. Strange lights were spotted in the forest and some military personnel from the bases went out to investigate. On at least one and possibly more than one of these occasions they eventually came across what they claimed was a smallish vehicle landed in the woods. After they inspected it for a while, the vehicle took off and zoomed away through the trees.

The case stands out because a number of people in an official capacity, some of fairly high rank, are willing to go on the record and say that they say a UFO.

Sceptics tend to dismiss the whole incident, believing that what the eye-witnesses actually saw was nothing but the local lighthouse, shining through the trees.
