I would like some explanation how this equation comes up with the answer 2,19/40.

5,3/8-2,9/10

First convert these whole numbers in to fraction

5,3/8 =((8x5 )+3)/8 = 43/8
2,9/10= ((10x2 )+9)/10 = 29/10

So the equation becomes

= 43/8 – 29/10

Now take LCM

= (215 – 116) /40
= 99/40

Covert it in the whole number
= 2, 19/40>>>answer
