What Is An Attaché Backgammon Board?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The word attaché actually means case or briefcase. Therefore, the attaché backgammon board is a board that folds into a briefcase style cover which stores the backgammon pieces also. It became the most popular version of the backgammon board, and so is now the most commonly available to buy.

The advantages are that unlike the boxed versions, the pieces are always secure. The boxed versions of backgammon split and pieces are lost or damaged. This makes it extremely durable, and with the board always being on the inside, it is also very protective of the board surface. This is very important as the board needs to remain in tact for the game to be played without interference.

The attaché backgammon board is easy to transport as it folds up, secured with clasps, and complete with a handle. It is also cost effective as it always comes complete, whilst the durability means it is rarely replaced. Of course, the quality differs but whatever your pocket, you know that it will perform well.
