Many people are skeptical about things that advertise that you can have anything you want. The problem with things such as 'The Secret' is that they sound too good to be true and a little corny. However, this particular self improvement guide has been advertised on Oprah. Usually Oprah only has people on her show who do actually make a difference and many people have found 'The Secret' to work.

Overall this will work better for some more than others. Every single person is different and so each person will have their own levels of skeptism. However there truly is no harm in buying the book to see if it works for you. It is not overly expensive and if you do not like it you may be able to get some money back through an auction site.

I was reading about The Secret on www.selfimprovementsguide.com and they explained that it was really about visualization and positive thinking. Do both of these and you will look at life a lot better

Yes, The Secret is, come up with a good scam, flog it to millions (billions, even) over the Internet, and sit back and enjoy the money.

All of the people in the video are making money from trying to sell you this idea; you might go onto join their societies, buy their magazines, attend their lectures, etc. -- all ways for them to earn money.

Okay, it's not really a bad scam. The basic idea is "think positive". Believe you can improve your life, and try to do it, and you probably can. Woohoo, thinking positive helps you solve your problems. Gosh, how revolutionary an idea, eh?

The twist of this video is trying to add something mystical almost magical to it.

So how does that fit in with the horrendous things happening to ordinary people in Iraq, Darfur or the slums of India? Do you think maybe bigger forces of their societies and situations have more to do with their fate, than whether or not they can manage to think "positive"?

Wouldn't it be nice if there were some easy simple formula to having a happy life... or even better "what ever you want"?

I do like one bit of the video... where it says you can't change other people, only your attitude and your choices. Very true.
